Good afternoon, back again after a short hiatus. School is now back in session, woohoo, for us momma’s who were ready for kids to go back ππ. Now that school is back in session, I’ve been trying to get back into more reading, crafty work and writing.
For starters, I just finished don’t look behind you by Lois Duncan, a book I hadn’t read since I was in grade school, maybe middle school. It’s about a girl, April Corrigan and her family, average family, mom is an author, dad works for an airline company, turned drug ring spy. One day she’s an average teenager, dating a jock, plays tennis, normal teenager life, then one day, she gets called out of class, down to the counselor’s office. She has no idea what’s going on, until she gets to the office, and sees somebody she doesn’t normally see-Lorelie, her grandma. Walking out of school, she starts badgering her grandma for answers, who unfortunately, can’t answer them for her.
Upon returning home, realizing her brother Bram, has also been released from school early, they start badgering mom for answers. All mom and “Uncle Max”, can tell them is that due to unforeseen circumstances with the mission her dad is on, they are now in danger, the kids are told to pack so they can leave.
I won’t give any more spoilers, but it was a pretty quick read, I read half the book and listened to the other half. I will say, it doesn’t end like you’d hope it would. But I hope you enjoy this.
Have a great rest of your afternoon folks, it’s 78Β°here in sunny Michigan, so, I’m gonna enjoy reading and enjoying my September weather.
